Acne Scars

Acne scars can be smoothed or softened in appearance. Several treatments are available, from simple & easy with no down time, to more complex requiring healing time.

Smooth Beam Laser
The Smooth Beam laser is our most popular approach.  This laser gently stimulates new collagen formation under the scars to gradually lift the depressed area over a number of treatments.   There is no downtime, and significant improvement can occur.

Subscision
This utilizes a microincision in the skin in an attempt to disrupt the scar tissue holding the skin down.  By breaking the tethering scar, the skin is freed to lift back to its normal flat contour.  Typically several sessions are utilized.  Areas on the nose and forehead respond best to this procedure.

Chemical Peels
Peels can be very effective, especially for the superficial small scars.  Multiple light chemical peels can be efficacious, especially for multiple small superficial scars. We have a variety of peeling agents to choose from.  We can combine peeling agents to help with aging skin even as we treat the scars.  Peels can be useful on non face areas which are resistant to laser. 

Fillers (Restalyne, Radiesse, and Captique)
Scars can be successfully filled in.  We no longer use the outdated Collagen injections made popular years ago.  Collagen injections have been replaced by Restylane and Radiesse and Captique
