What is your skin problem?

Laser Hair Removal
Many places do hair removal.  We offer two different lasers to treat all skin types for both men and women.
In each and every area we perform a custom analysis to determine optimal settings to minimize risk and reduce the overall number of treatments required.  Our laser nurse is meticulous and we don’t pay staff based on volume or number of patients treated.  Our emphasis is you, making sure that all the hairs are treated in the area at each session.

Our medical director, Board Certified Dermatologist Bernard I. Raskin, MD was one of the very first physicians in Los Angeles to introduce Laser Hair Removal when the first units entered the market over 10 years ago.  We offer the expertise you demand.

What’s unique about our lasers?
Our lasers are designed solely for hair, nothing else.  They are top of the line models. We do not use a combination photofacial system that tries to do everything.  And we have two different laser hair units so we can treat the lightest skin to the darkest skin type.  Our emphasis is you.  And our staff isn’t paid by volume or number of patients treated.

Who does laser hair removal?

We have a specially trained female Registered Nurse who is meticulous in her treatments.  For men treating private areas, the male doctor is available.

What should I know about laser hair removal?

A laser generates heat in the hair and this heat radiates into the hair follicle causing localized tissue destruction.  The goal is to heat the hair, and not damage the skin surface or other important structures under the skin.  The laser does this by using light beams that are attracted to dark colors such as hair.  So the hair must be in place for laser to work.  Don’t pluck before your treatment, but it is ok to shave.

Who gets the best results?

People with light colored skin and black hairs do best.  Some areas of the body do better than other parts.  We have to use a specialized laser for darker skin to avoid damaging the skin surface.  That is why we have a second type of laser specifically for darker complected people.

Is laser safe?
In general yes, but problems can occur especially if you become tan between treatments.  And all systems have risk.
